Biographical Information
I graduated from the College of Wooster with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and English. While at Wooster, I took advantage of a study abroad opportunity in Salamanca, Spain, where I fell in love with the Spanish language and with Hispanic cultures. After earning a Master's degree in Hispanic Literature from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, I began teaching high school Spanish in rural Belmont County in the southeastern part of Ohio, near where I grew up, in Wheeling, WV. While there I reconnected with an old friend from my days at Wooster who somehow agreed to marry me! Kristen and I moved to Fairfax, Virginia where she earned her MFA in Creative Writing from George Mason University, while I taught at a diverse IB school where the student body spoke a total of 88 languages. We moved to Columbus in 2006 and I began teaching Spanish at Whetstone the following year. This is my third year at CAHS and my fourteenth year teaching at the secondary level. Kristen and I have a precious five-year-old daughter, Delilah, who started Kindergarten this year at Clinton Elementary, and two dogs, Kaya and Pablo.
